Description
Cooperative Energy Incorporated (CEI) and Green Power EMC (GPEMC) are pleased to announce the simultaneous release of two Request for Proposals (RFPs) aimed at evaluating and securing essential power supply resources for Georgia Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs). “CEI’s Large Load Power Supply RFP” is focused on procuring nonrenewable resources, while “Green Power's Renewable RFP” seeks renewable resources. Together, these efforts aim to create a balanced portfolio that supports the diverse energy needs of Georgia’s EMCs, ensuring a comprehensive energy solution that addresses both reliability and cost-effectiveness for participating members.
GPEMC is seeking proposals from qualified suppliers for both existing or new renewable resources to serve traditional load and the anticipated load growth associated with data centers. This RFP is soliciting proposals for approximately 1,100 MW of utility-scale solar, and up to 1,100 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), from both standalone battery storage projects and battery storage paired with utility-scale solar. Proposals should have a minimum size of 25 MW, to be online as soon as 2027. GPEMC has a strong preference for projects that have an active interconnection request under review or in study with an Interconnecting Utility on the Integrated Transmission System (ITS) at the time of submission. GPEMC invites all interested respondents to submit a notice of intent by November 27, 2024, with bid proposals due per the submission instructions in the Green Power RFP document by 5:00PM ET, January 6, 2025.
