Virginia Municipal Electric Association (“VMEA”) issues a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) that seeks competitive proposals from qualified Battery Energy Storage Systems ("BESS") developers to design, build, and operate utility-scale BESS facilities with a Commercial Operation Date ("COD") in 2026. Specifically, this RFP seeks two 5 MW / 10 MWhr BESS to be installed at specific sites in Manassas and Harrisonburg (two of VMEA’s members) intended for Demand Side Management ("DSM") activities.
